Faceplate mounting options

Faceplate mounting options

Each installation demands a practical mounting option. The design of the fixtures and the architectural parameters as well as the technical requirements or the environment plays a role in the decision. Screw covers are avalibile in several variants, a range of options for faceplate and fixture mountings. The elegant clamp locks/quick-action fasteners that conceals screws or our snap-in mechanisms. Combined with the matching rear structure – aluminium profile back box, sheet metal back box, and sheet metal frame or wall holder/holding plate – the optimum overall solution can be designed. Position and number of the mounting elements are coordinated with the faceplate dimensions; of course, additional elements can be provided.

Even if it comes to fulfilling norms the choice of mounting options plays an important role. With water-protected fixtures according to EN 81-72, for example, the number and position of mounting elements is coordinated to ensure optimum protection against water intruding from the front.

Concealed mounting options or such which cannot be easily “cracked” by means of conventional vandal’s tools increases the functional reliability of the installation and a faceplate removal surveillance device provides even more safety against manipulation.

Screws are used with direct mounting of a faceplate on the wall, as well as in combination with the aluminium profile back box, sheet metal back box FLEXIBLE or sheet metal frame.

In addition to stainless steel screws, gold-coloured as well as black screws are also available. The position and number of screws is coordinated with the faceplate dimensions and the respective fixture. Of course, additional screws can be provided on demand. We can also provide the matching screwdrivers for all screws shown here.

The quick-action fastener type Z is used with fixtures with 185 mm faceplate width and with EPSILON fixtures with 210 mm faceplate width.

From the front, only two boreholes ø 3.5 mm are visible with the quick-action fastener type Z. These serve for inserting an Allen key® (2.5) for tightening and loosening the clamp lock. The Allen key® is included in the delivery.

Mounting by means of the quick-action fasteners is suitable for wall thickness from 1.5 up to 2.5 mm. For thicker walls, spacers are optionally available.

...

The quick-action fastener type M is used with fixtures with 72 mm faceplate width and as additional intermediate fastener with faceplate lengths > 448 mm.

From the front, only one borehole ø 3.5 mm is visible with the quick-action fastener type M. These serve for inserting an Allen key® (2.5) for tightening and loosening the clamp lock. The Allen key® is included in the delivery.

Mounting by means of the quick-action fasteners is suitable for wall thickness from 1.5 up to 2.5 mm. For thicker walls spacers are optionally available.

Faceplate mounting by means of the snap-in mechanism is possible in combination with the aluminium profile back box and with sheet metal back boxes FLEXIBLE.

The position and number of elements with catch spring and snap bolt is coordinated with the faceplate dimensions and the respective rear structure. No mounting elements are visible from the front which makes the fixture look very elegant, and at the same time prevents wilful unscrewing of the faceplate.

When necessary, the faceplate can be removed by levering it by means of a screwdriver at a designated point (pulling chamfer at the rear of the faceplate).

...

Faceplate mounting by means of ball catches, this is possible in combination with the aluminium profile back box and with sheet metal back boxes FLEXIBLE. It is also applied with several variants of the full-height COP-Panels.

The position and number of elements is coordinated with the faceplate dimensions and the respective rear structure.

No mounting elements are visible from the front which prevents them from being vulnerable. When necessary, the faceplate can be removed by means of a vacuum suction device.

The concealed screws of the faceplate is possible in combination with the aluminium profile back box, with sheet metal back boxes FLEXIBLE and with full-height COP-Panels.

The position and number of elements is coordinated with the faceplate dimensions and the respective rear structure.

From the front, only one borehole ø 3.5 mm is visible. This serves for inserting an Allen key® (2.5) for tightening and loosening the faceplate. The Allen key® is included in the delivery.

Faceplate removal protection

...

Locking by means of profile cylinders is applied with fixtures and COP-Panels (full-height) with aluminium profile back box or sheet metal back box FLEXIBLE. The faceplate or a part of the faceplate is provided with an additional mechanical fixing and thus secured against unauthorised removal.

The locking nose of the profile cylinder engages with a matching counterpart and interlocks the faceplate/part of the faceplate. With this option various technical solutions are possible. Please ask for details.

...

To avoid manipulation on faceplates, fixtures with aluminium profile back box and sheet metal back box FLEXIBLE can be equipped with a faceplate removal surveillance device a small electro-mechanical module.

With unauthorised removal of the faceplate, contact is activated. Via the NO-contact respectively NC-contact function for example acoustic signals, malfunction information or a breaking signal can be released.

Depending on the dimensions of the faceplate it may be necessary to use several modules for optimum surveillance.
