The fire brigade communication system of Leitronic AG / SCHAEFER GmbH allows fire brigade communication according to EN81-72 and is suitable for new installations and retrofits. After switching on the communication system with the key switch on the fire brigade access level, the hands-free mode is selected and communication is possible between all connected paging stations.
When speaking at several stations simultaneously, the loudest signal prevails. This can lead to undesired behaviour in loud ambient noise. For this reason, paging stations (except car) can be equipped with push-to-talk buttons. When one of these buttons is pressed, the operating mode switches to Push To Talk (PTT). Now the PTT button must be pressed to transmit the signal. After releasing the button, the other participants can speak. Once the operating mode is switched to Push To Talk, the system remains in this operating mode until it is switched off and then switched on again. Optionally, the system can be equipped with a switch in the machine room, which can also be used to start communication.
All paging stations are equipped with LEDs to indicate the status, which can be displayed in the panel via the supplied light guides. Alternatively a separate display is possible. Ready to talk is indicated by a green speech symbol. Ready to receive is indicated by a yellow loudspeaker symbol.
