SP-Bus

SP-Bus (SCHAEFER-Panel-Bus) is a system for simple wiring of landing and indicator fixtures from SCHAEFER. For the SP-Bus no PC configuration is necessary. At the displays / nodes just the floor is set by means of DIP switches respectively via a menu. With regard to the controller, the polarity, the connection method (3-wire/4-wire), etc., can be set by means of jumpers at the modules. Thus the bus is suited for all controllers using digital I/O signals.

Only four lines are required for wiring: two lines for the power supply and two lines for signal transmission. These must be twisted pair wires. The SP-Bus is bi-directional, i. e. signals can be sent both to the fixtures (e. g. indicator fixture) as well as from the fixtures to the controller (e. g. call button signal). The function of the bus node is integrated in the displays (DMD SP and Touch TFT); thus, no additional bus node needs to be mounted in the fixture. Further elements such as buttons and indicators can be connected to the Displays.

  • suited for individual installations
  • Topology: main line with branch lines
  • Bus length: max. 200 m
  • Branch line length: each max. 1 m
  • Transfer rate: 50 KBit/s
  • Number of participants: max. 63 Displays

Wiring of the SP-Bus is done by means of simple plug-in connectors. The main line is connected with the Display Modul/Button Modul and runs through the shaft. Further modules can be connected by means of jumper cables. SP-Bus cables are of 4-pole type: two lines for the power supply and two lines for data transmission. These must be twisted pair wires. At each floor, female connectors are crimped to the main line (no special tool required). The branch line is the connection between female connector and display/node. Using the ribbon cables additional elements like buttons, switches or arrows can be connected.
