The demands as per EN 81‑71 Class 2 are often not sufficient formany applications. For highly frequented and vandalism-exposedlifts, SCHAEFER has developed special buttons which are twice asrobust as demanded by EN 81‑71 Class 2.
SCHAEFER Class 3+ fulfils the norms EN 81‑71 Class 1 /Class 2 andEN 81‑72, offers a higher impact resistance and with protection classIP 54 an improved dust protection and water protection.
The impact resistance test for SCHAEFER Class 3+ is conductedwith a 20 joule /5 kg impactor from a height of fallof 0.4 m compared to 10 joule /1 kg from 1 m (as per EN 81‑71 Class 2).
Water protection / dust protection: The Class 3+ buttons inaddition come with protection class IP 54 according to DINEN 60529:2014‑09 (protection against dust in harmful quantities /complete protection against contact / protection against splash waterall around).
Fire resistance test: All Class 3+ buttons are exposed to a40 mm long flame for the duration of 180 seconds. After thetest the buttons remain in a safe and functioning state. All markingsare still visible.
