What is Media TFT flex?
Media TFT flex is a modern, flexible system, for a multimedia representation of process and multimedia data on displays of all shapes and sizes. Media TFT flex is perfectly suitable for the use in 'Digital Signage'-applications, in building automation, ithe elevator as in mechanical engineering.
Heart of the system is a strong, energy saving processor with up to 4 ARM-cores, as it is used in mobile devices or tablets, but in a special version fpr industrial applications, suitable forcontinuous operations and a la long term availability. Furnished with a galvanic isolated CAN-Bus, USB- and Ethernet-interface and short-circuit resistant 24 V in- and outputs, it is perfectly prepared for nowadays requirements in different application areas. A hardened linux with a real time extension for the industrial field insures the necessary security and reliability. The integrated CANopen-stack forms the base for many applications in the elevator, as infor industrial topics. Via an integrated web server, the configuration websites are provided.
Web based configuration
The configuration is entirely web based and optimized for smartphone use. Thus you can use every smartphone, tablet or notebook for the configuration of the displays, without having to install any special configuration software. The application is slim, is based on the actual HTML5-standard and is intuitively operable thanks to its WYSIWYG-surface (What You See Is What You Get). The multilingual operator interface permits the use in international projects.
Through the use of current web technologies, the configuration is possible locally as from distance. The content of the displays from many projects can be administrated centrally over the web on a standardized surface.
The high-quality displays with LED-backlight, high angle and display intensities up to 1500 Cd/m2, equipped with stereo-sound-output and optional touch-sensor are ideal for the output of videos, diashows or even for multimedial supported process messages.
The layout of the displays are realized with themes. A series of professional themes is already included in the delivery. You can adapt them freely to yourrequirements or even develop your own themes. For this matter, a web based web editor is at your disposal, which you can use with every current browser on a smartphone or computer. The installation of a special software becomes therefore unnecessary.
High-resolution TFT-displays are used for more and more applications nowadays. They can represent many different information on a relatively small surface. This is not only due to the favorable prices of the display-panels, but also to the users expectations, who use smartphones and tablet-computers on a daily basis and expect their new machines and devices to work the same.
In the industrial use, the biggest challenges are composed of the long-term availability on one side, a multitude of interfaces and protocols, which have to be adapted to every application on the other side. Therefore efficient micro processors are needed, which still have a low energy consumption and only produce a small amount of wasted heat.
A further challenge consists of the configuration of the displays. Often, you find offers with a very limited range of functions or very complicated configuration tools are needed for a larger amout of customizable functions.
Media TFT flex pusues another approach and provides for the first time a combination of efficient hardware with a very low energy impact, with the help of micro processors, combined with many standardized interfaces of the industrial field and a freely configurable web surface which is easy to handle. This makes the Media TFT flex-displays predestined for the use in many application areas.
In the elevator
High-quality displays on direct eye level guarantee the attention of all passangers and reduces the felt travelling time. But that is not it. Modern TFT-displays can show the users many useful information regarding the elevator itself or the building. In this way, you can not only display the commonly known staus notifications - the actual floor number and driving direction -, but also different messages in special operating modes (Case of fire - Please use the security exit!, 'elevator in maintenance'), indications of special trips (bed transports in hospital) and also security warnings (Step ahead).
The time-controlled functions, simple configuration possibilities over the net, and the representation of content from the internet make flexyPage an ideal system for the different applications in the 'Digital Signage' area.
Easy to configurate
Before being able to use the displays, the functional setup for special needs of the user is essential. Already at this stage is proved, that flexyPage is based on the newest and most modern technologies. The configuration is entirely web based and takes places in the browser of your smartphone or other portable device. The setup happens in a so-called WYSIWYG-editor (What you see is what you get), which means, that you are able to already see and adapt the final visual appearance in your browser during the configuration. That means that your display can easily be configurated over your smartphone, tablet or computer. The installation of a special software is unnecessary.
To make this possible, a web server was integrated in the display, which represents the configuration page as website. Depending on the access right settings, the display configuration can be made on-site or conveniently from your office desk.
With the access to the display over the internet, a really fast adjustment is made possible, without travelling to the displays emplacement. This ultimately makes econimies on the travelling fees and the result is always visible directly.
The whole user surface is designed in way, which makes its handling purely intuitive. On the left side is represented the screen preview of the display content. On the right is the configuration menu for the choice of different widgets, layouts or for the adjustment of parameters. The individual widgets can easily be drawn with Drag and Drop from the widget-box on the screen preview, there be placed freely and adapted in size. In the screen preview, while configurating, the display layout is represented in the same way, as it will be shown in the final representation of the screen, it's what we call authentic WYSIWYG.
Often it is necessary, that different persons can change and access different parameters or contents in one and the same display. For the configuration of the flexyPage-displays an extensive right management system has been developed, which enables the users access on different authorisation layers. That makes it possible, that a technician can adjust the parameters of the interfaces, a layouter only the design and the final user the information that are communicated through the display (for example news, advertisements, building intern information).
Interfaces for the configuration
In order that the configuration of the displays with a smartphone or computer is possible as well on-site as from further away, we made sure to create many different interfaces, which enables the access to the configuration dialogues. Every display is equiped with a network connection (LAN), with which the access on-site is directly made possible. Over this connection, the display can be connected with a local network or the internet, if the configuration is intended to take place over those connections.
Smartphones do not dispose of a LAN-connection, but almost always of a WLAN- and BlueTooth-interface. The flexyPage-displays can also be equipped with these interfaces, to make possible the configuration on-site with a smartpone.
The Media TFT flex disposes of many interfaces, which allow the interconnection of many displays to a joint network. The interconnection can take place for exampls over the CAN-Bus or over a LAN or a combination of both. With the combination of many buses, nearly unlimited networks can be created and established. When a multitude of displays is interlaced, the sensory data can be used on every connected display at the same time. Different contents can also e shared between the displays and animations or processes can timely be coordinated.
When your displays dispose of a connection to the internet, the central configuration of your displays is possible over the flexyPage-portal. From here, you will be able to access almost all the parameters of the displays, verify their status or adapt the content.

Eine direkte Anbindung und Kommunikation mit dem Notrufgerät der Fa. Telegärtner zur Realisierung der Hörbehinderten Notruffunktion
ist zwingende Voraussetzung.
Des Weiteren muss die Option bestehen, alle Displays über ein Onlineportal zentral zu verwalten um ggf. Änderungen vornehmen zu können.
